Jackets Required TV Presents: Episode 46 Why Go Custom?
Welcome to Jacket’s Required, hello, I’m Dominic Lacquaniti, designer and tailor.
On this week’s episode of Jackets required TV I’m going to share an unexpected benefit of custom clothing.
Custom clothing used to be for only very high end bespoke or couture clientele but not any longer. There are obvious benefits to having items designed for you such as they fit impeccably, no one else will be wearing the same suit, tie, or dress that you are when you show up to the big event.
While those are great reasons to invest in custom clothing, there’s also a surprising reason that this is the best choice to start doing NOW and to continue building upon in the future.
The custom clothing creation process begins with the most important element – perfect measurements. Not that you have to meet some magical set of numbers to be deemed perfect but rather that YOUR measurements ARE perfect, they are accurately recorded and kept up to date with your tailor.
This is actually a huge timesaver!
You know you have a black tie event coming up in a few months, or you have an important meeting on the books and you need a little something to boost your confidence.
What do you do?
You simply call or visit YOUR tailor.
You tell them what item of clothing you need or are looking for,
discuss the fabrics and color options for your garment and then the hard work is left to your tailor and NOT left on you to search and find this mythical perfect piece out in the world of mass production.
The longer you work with your tailor the better he or she will know your personal tastes.
They will be able to alert you when they get in a new fabric they know you will love,
And they will likely even order in items to show you based on the knowledge of your personal style. What a timesaver!
Someone who can anticipate your wants and desires combined with your wardrobe needs and who then creates something stunning and tailored and one of a kind just for YOU – and you don’t ever have to go “shopping” in the standard-sense?
Well that’s a beautiful thing. You will look great AND feel great every time. So what time is it? It’s time to “go custom!”
