Jackets Required TV Presents: Episode 52 – Gentlemen & Cigars

Welcome to Jacket’s Required, hello, I’m Dominic Lacquaniti, designer and tailor.

In this week’s episode of Jackets required we’re going to talk about cigars.

Cigars are classic and allude to a certain high-end lifestyle. While smoking is taboo these days, cigars are not inhaled, and therefore are more popular than ever.

Cigars come in many different flavors, from mild to bold, to having hints of cocoa and vanilla. Rock Patel makes a nice cigar for ladies called the Java. It is smaller, flat and leaves a hint of cocoa on your lips with each puff.

Cigars pair well with various wines, liquors, and as with foods, the pairing can change the flavor not only of the cocktail but of the cigar as well.

One great way to enjoy a nice cigar is with a glass of port. It is popular to dip the tip of your cigar in port before smoking. This gives it a sweetness that pairs beautifully with the port you then are sipping.

Cigar Lounges are still growing in popularity today and a favorite place for businessmen to relax after a long days work. They are a great place to mingle, kick back and puff on your favorite stogie.
Certain classics will never go out of style. As with great clothes, a great cigar is something that is timeless.
